Substitution For The Fillmore and Variety Playhouse Shows
Posted on: February 16, 2013
Rob Eaton has had to leave the road for a few days due to a family emergency; we all wish him and family the best. Meanwhile, Chopper Campbell - who toured with DSO in 2000 and played with Rob Koritz and Dino English prior - will join us for our Fillmore show in Charlotte and our Variety Playhouse show in Atlanta.
DSO To Play Terrapin Crossroads
Posted on: February 12, 2013
Dark Star Orchestra is proud to have just added a show on April 9th at Phil Lesh’s Terrapin Crossroads in San Rafael, CA. Terrapin Crossroads opened last year with much fanfare, as Phil set up a “home” venue, complete with a full restaurant and bar, to not only play when he isn’t on the road, but to provide an artist friendly venue for bands to perform. With the extended GD history in San Rafael, the invitation to play Phil’s very own Grate Room has the band stoked, guaranteeing this will be a night to remember. Tickets for the DSO April 9 Terrapin Crossroads show are available here.
Jubilee Lineup Announced
Posted on: February 05, 2013
We are thrilled to once again bring you the Dark Star Jubilee, where the bands, fans and crew come together as one! This year The 2nd Annual Dark Star Jubilee will take place at Legend Valley over Memorial Day Weekend (May 24-26) and will feature three full nights of Dark Star Orchestra, in addition to what are sure to be mind-expanding sets all weekend long from Mickey Hart Band, Yonder Mountain String Band, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, The New Orleans Suspects ft. Paul Barrere & Fred Tackett of Little Feat, The Wailers, The Werks, Elephant Revival, Donna Jean Godchaux Band, John Brown's Body, Marco Benevento, Greensky Bluegrass, Pimps of Joytime, Rumpke Mountain Boys, BigeaR, The Folkadelics, My Brothers and Sister, The Ark Band and Matt Reynolds, with five more bands to be announced.
Just like last year, the 2013 Jubilee will be an intimate, family event with tent camping right inside the concert bowl and the option to camp next to your car just a few hundred yards away. The community here is unlike many other festivals, with open campfires in designated areas and welcomed acoustic music made by you and your neighbors.. At the Jubilee, you will never have to miss a set because of scheduling, long hikes to your site, or waiting in the beer line, as we encourage patrons 21 years and older to BRING THEIR OWN CANNED BEER anywhere on the festival grounds. No glass please, but BYOB is highly recommended- we won't be selling beer on site.
Good Lovin VIP tickets are available and include access to numerous perks, including the Good Lovin' Lounge, located less than 100 feet from the side-by-side stages. Click here for all the Ticket Options, we hope to Meet You at the Jubilee!

Happy New Year To One and All

We hope that your Holiday Season and New Year was as joyous for you as it was for us. We are grateful for the growing numbers of you that continue to come out and experience the music with us. 2012 was an incredible year and 2013 promises to be even better.
The band is playing with the energy of a steam locomotive, and will continue that course on Winter Tour 2013, starting on January 30 in Minneapolis and winding through the Midwest and South before finishing up in Ft. Lauderdale just before the Jamaican Jam In The Sand. You can score your tickets for most Winter Tour shows at DSOtix.
If that weren’t enough, Jeff Mattson will be spending his Sunday afternoon joining SiriusXM’s Tales From The Golden Road hosts Gary Lambert and David Gans channel, for most of the show. You can hear Jeff with Gary and David this Sunday (1/6) from 4-6 p.m. Eastern on the Grateful Dead Channel, SiriusXM 23.
